Sarnafil roofing single ply membranes are very versatile and therefore ideal for almost any kind of roofing project.

Quality Membranes

Sarnafil PVC membranes are manufactured in Switzerland, a country renowned for quality.

Quality control is very important to us and we operate a stringent quality control programme to ISO 9001. Further Information: ISO 9001

The Sarnafil roofing membranes are manufactured to ISO 14001 and have a managed impact on the environment. Further Information: ISO 14001

Dimensionally Stable

Sarnafil membranes are dimensionally stable due to the reinforcement carrier sheet. This means that they do not shrink, stretch or lose their shape.

Solar Reflective

Membranes are UV resistant and need no chippings to protect them from the sun’s UV rays.

Sarnafil membranes are tested for UV ageing to the highest international standard for waterproofing membranes, a test which requires exposure to 5,000 hours of UV testing. While this is a tough test in itself, Sarnafil membranes are tested to withstand 10,000 hours of UV exposure.

Sarnafil membranes have a unique lacquered top coating, the benefit of which is that it helps to provide better resistance to industrial/biological waste and air pollution.

Resistant to Root Growth

Membranes are resistant to root growth, making them suitable for use under green roofs.

Fire Retardant

Sarnafil PVC membranes are treated with a fire retardant and are self-extinguishing. The membranes can be used to achieve the relevant Building Regulations approval.

Vapour Permeable

As Sarnafil membranes are vapour permeable, small amounts of moisture trapped beneath the membrane is able to evaporate, preventing blistering or slumping as can be common in traditional flat roofs.

Flame Free

Sarnafil membranes are cold applied and free from naked flames. Our membranes are homogenous, which when hot air welded form joints which are stronger than the membrane itself.

Sika Sarnafil aims to address the main ‘green’ issues faced by the construction industry such as legislation, environmental assessment methodologies and product and production assessment in Thinking Ahead. Sika Sarnafil relates these issues to the key economic, social and environmental elements of sustainability. One term Sika Sarnafil tries avoid is ‘environmentally friendly’. Very few man-made products have a zero or near-zero impact on the environment and that includes roofing systems.

Everything the construction industry does, and every product it uses, has an impact on the environment. Sika Sarnafil’s objective is to ensure that its systems and products create minimal impact on the environment whilst meeting the functional requirements of clients, specifiers, contractors and nature.

Subsequently Sika has an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Furthermore Sarnafil PVC membranes have been used to obtain Ecopoint profiles and BRE Green Guide ratings for membrane roofs, a rating which can be used to obtain credits towards an overall environmental rating for a building (BREEAM).

Life Expectancy

In a competitive sellers market, investing in improving or replacing your roof can reap dividends.

Sarnafil roofing membranes have been independently assessed by the British Board of Agrement (BBA) and are certified, in their opinion, to have a life expectancy ‘in excess of 40 years’.
